Hello All! Welcome back to day 3 of the 12 Days of Christmas!
Today, I am sharing another Wreath that my sister and I worked on last weekend. We have a blast making crafts. We equally help each other out.
I love doing fun things like this together with her!
I call this the Santa Clause Wreath.
My inspiration came from
Mine, however is a little different.
What you will need:
A wreath of your choice
red pom pom yarn
velvet ribbon or velvety fabric
1 small foam sheet
gold paint
hot glue/gun
I got this wire wreath on sale at Michael's. Yep used my 50% coupon and got it for $2. Woo Hoo!
I used about 1 1/4 skeins of this Spark a Doodle Pom Pom Yarn. I bought it this yarn over the summer on clearance for 97 cents.
You just can't beat that.
I wrapped it around and around and around.
Oh hey Girls! My daughter and her friend that slept over came into my craft room to hang with her Aunt Ra Ra and I for a bit.
I already had some velvet feeling fabric, so I thought I'd use that instead of buying the ribbon. Plus I had a heck of time finding black velvet ribbon. I only looked at Michael's. I saw plenty of red velvet ribbon though.
I cut it long enough to go all the way around the wreath. I cut it twice as wide so I could fold it in three's. Then I ironed it on the reverse side, and ironed it, on a low setting.
Then I hot glue it together,
so now its nice and thick!
Then I applied to the wreath and glued the top part of the fabric to the bottom part. It will not be moving at all now.
Now back up a little bit. While I was wrapping the wreath I cut my buckle out of this foam piece and I painted it a beautiful Gold color by Martha Stewart.
This was an old piece of foam. I never waste pieces. Ya just never know when you'll need it.
And there we have it!
Here it is on my Door! I have literally had people slow down in their cars to look at it. Now that just makes me feel good!
My husband grabbed it and pretended to drive with it like it was a steering wheel. Then my son made a joke that it was Santa's steering wheel. Oh the boys in my life and their imaginations.
Thanks so much for tuning in! I hope to see everyone EVERYDAY for the next 9 Days!
Until Tomorrow...
