MineCraft Creeper Costume

I hope everyone had fun tonight! I am just now posting my daughter's costume, because I just finished it 1 hour before trick or treating time.

My daughter is a huge fan of Minecraft. When she showed me what she wanted to be, I was like "Heck, I can make that!"

This was our inspiration

I was afraid with our Texas weather it would be too hot to have a box on, so we instead decided to paint the squares onto the shirt and pants. Wait let me take that back, we decided, but I had to do it.

We bought matching pink pants and shirt, just cheap-o ones from Walmart. Shh, yes I do buy some things there. I already had the paint, and tape.

I first taped off squares using painters tape.

I taped the sleeves as well too, but when it came to the back side, well, I decided the front was enough.

Then I picked out a lighter pink shade and white acrylic paint.

And Painted every other square pink and white.

                                                                 Look at all that PAINT!

Then I painted a very messy heart with blocks around it. I suck at painting.

For the head, I made this pattern on  the paint program and then printed about 8 sheets. However it printed much lighter. Ya probably because I am running out of color ink. So I improvised and colored in some of the squares with  dark pink maker.

Then I made the eyes and mouth with black acrylic paint, and cut holes in the center of the eyes.

Were laughing so hard, she looked so cute with her block head on, playing on the computer.

Here's both my kiddos!, Brother was an Army Boy. Hey easy, and he already had the stuff, and even put it all together and got himself ready.

All in all the costume was a bit tedious, but I think original ;) Her friends were envious!

Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween! Thanks for tuning in! Until next time...

Homemade Rotisserie Chicken

How was your weekend? Me, well you sure you wanna know, I spent it at meetings and all the mean while sick! But I saw my doctor, and I am finally on the mends!

So about this chicken...
I promise I am in no way promoting this machine. I just so happen to have one, and have had one for about 5 years. With Thanksgiving coming up, I wanted to let my readers know about this machine. And for those that already have one, maybe just inspire you to use yours again.

For this recipe, I simply purchased a 6 pound whole chicken.
Remove the neck and gizzards inside of its cavity.
I then rubbed olive oil all over it, and then my favorite chicken rub spice. However when I don't have any of this I have also used paprika, garlic salt and a little bit of sugar. I as well love that taste :)

This is the worse picture ever. I had glares every where, and when I corrected them on Photoshop, ha well I made it worse. Oh well.
But here's what it looks like while cooking. Can't you just smell the roasting?

The chicken comes out sooooo soooooo juicy. And if you didn't think I added enough o's Well here's one more. Ooh so good!

Now lets, talk thanksgiving! You can put up to 10 pounds in one of these machines. I feel like 9 really should be the max as 10 pounders tend to run on the sides and burners.

Your talking the best turkey ever!!! And no checking on it every 20 minutes, no basting constantly. Just season it as you desire before hand and stick it in. It will take 15 minutes per pound.
If you want more turkey, then stick in another one when that's done. I am telling you this is the simplest but most tasteful turkey or chicken you'll ever have.

And of course you can do so many other meats in it. It also comes with a basket to put stuff in. We like to make ribs, chicken breast, drums, pork chops, and even roast in it.
Comes out juicy every time! And think about the healthy factors. All of the fat drips off, but still leaving the wonderful taste and natural meat juices!

What to do with the left overs? Well, I have a few recipes on my blog that will help with that!

Thanks so much for tuning in! Until next time..

Finally, a practical safety alert app!

Every parent wants to be the best Mom or Dad. We feel the need to do it all.  Have the best job, the nicest home, the fanciest car, keep on top of the bills, make time for friends, entertain the masses, and of course do absolutely everything and then some to assure the most perfect life and upbringing for that amazing child you have created.

No one ever told me just how much worrying is involved when it comes to raising them. I try so hard not worry, but no matter what I do I just seem to worry even more. I have a hard time letting my children walk into the front yard unsupervised even for a second. I mean come on, kidnappings happen all the time.

What if you could keep tabs of your children at all times? Would you download an app that could track your child's every move,an app that your child could use on their phone when danger is lurking?

Today, I am very excited to tell you about this new app that does just that and much much more. It's called REACT MOBILE. This app has created an easy way to call for help in the event of any emergency, and its available for iphone and android phones.

"React Mobile  helps you turn your smartphone into a powerful lifeline". I am excited about using this app for my kids. It has a “I’m Safe” button to let me know when they've arrived at your home safely.

My son is to the age now where he wants to walk one block over to a friends house. He doesn't want me walking with him. He just wants to hop on his bike and ride over there. I can't help it though, our neighborhood seems safe, but predators go to the safe neighborhoods too. With the "I'm Safe" button I can know the minute he arrives there.

You know though React Mobile is not just for parents but it can also be used by college students, elderly and more.

With just a simple push of a button on your phone you can send out an SOS alert with your GPS coordinates. By pre-selecting emergency contacts  React Mobile can send a text message, or email. It can also send an alert to be posted on Facebook and Twitter.

When you send out an SOS Alert or Emergency Message, React Mobile is automatically prompted to dial 911. There is also a
"Follow-me" feature that allows your selected friends and family to track your moves in real-time whenever they are
concerned for their safety.

React Mobile Personal Safety App from Robb on Vimeo.

This is a great tool for all you runners out there. I always have my phone on me, but this way I can let my followers know I'm running, and they know where I am at all times. My husband will love that. I occasionally see him drive by, so he can make sure I'm safe. He won't admit to it, but I see that sneaky little protector.

I am thinking I'll have to snatch my mom and my grandma's phone and download this app and show them how to use it. I worry a lot about their safety too.
This will also be a great app for the kids to use this Halloween.

Best Part is... IT's FREE! Hurry up and go download this app at React Mobile.
Finally, a practical safety alert app that keeps me worrying a little less.

Thanks for tuning in, until next time...

Knitted Pumpkin Hat

Hope your weekend was fabulous!
Me, I think I might just cry. Blogger has been majorly acting up. And I have lost this post about 5 times now.
I had a step by step process on how to make this hat, but sadly its gone. Gone, gone.

I have some picture below, and I will also include a video. I don't really think my directions were that helpful. Its hard to write out how to do it, and word it just right.

Here's a video to help you out better.
