DIY Word Pillows (Inspiration Pillows)

Hello All, Happy Thursday!

Ever seen those pillows with words on it? Well, of course you have. I have been in love with them and have wanted one for long while. Since I needed some new throw pillows for the living room couch, I thought this would be the perfect time to try it out.

I really like the ones I have, but they have lost their fluff. So I've been collecting pillows from The Salvation Army. I get the ones that look barely used. Some of them still had tags on them.

Anyway, I bought a drop cloth. Ya know what you can get 6 feet by 9 feet of it for only $10. Its just like the expensive linen you'd buy for $7-10 for only a yard. And the more you feet you buy of the drop cloth the more you save $$.
20 + Drop Cloth DIY Projects. I'm already doing several of these but this is great for some extra ideas!
I've seen a ton of projects on Pinterest. I just hope the drop cloth companies don't decide to increase their prices.

First select your word, and then type it out on paint or whatever software you desire. I realized afterwards that I should have just searched Pinterest for the font I liked and then pasted it onto paint. I gave my sister that idea and it worked out great for her.
I saved it as a JPEG and then printed it out and selected it to be printed out on the whole sheet.I just used regular paper and a regular ink jet printer.

Center it onto your pillow casing and with a permanent Sharpie trace the word, pressing down hard so it will go through to the fabric.

I didn't trace hard enough and then had to kind of wing it.

I then just colored in one word at a time..

After I had colored in the word, I began making the pillow case. I chose to make a pillow case so I could remove it later, maybe with another word. Or if anything just to be able to wash it etc.

I have a good way of making them that really makes it easier than the traditional way.

Cut your fabric long ways instead over square.

Measure half on one side, and then on the other side it should over lap.

Sew each end under. Then flip your fabric inside out and pin along the edges where the pillow will be. Do this with the pillow inside of the case.
Then sew the sides together (right side facing each other)

And waa-laa you have your pillow.

My sister chose the wording Love Never Fails. And when she typed it into Pinterest she found the cutest font with the heart and all. She then pasted it into paint and printed it out.
Love Never Fails - 1 Corinthians 13:8

Yes I know I think hers turned out a little better than mine, lol.
She also made the two pillows behind it too.

Ever since Saturday night when we made these, I've had that stupid song in my head.
"I just came to say HELLO"

Thanks for tuning in! Until next time...
(which is tomorrow for Freebie Fridays, lol)

    2. Hi Allie, I'm writing here to let you know that I received your message and say thanks for your comment and for being my new follower!
I want to let you know that you show up as non-replay blogger in your message, that's why maybe you leave messages and sometimes other bloggers do not respond. If that's how you prefer to be, is your decision and is ok, but if you want to change your status, here I leave you a link to a blog that I follow and who has a good tutorial to correct that situation.
      This is the link: http://www.flusterbuster.com/2013/02/are-you-no-reply-blogger.html
What I discovered is that we have to check once a month our status, I've had to change about 5 times or so. Google and blogger make changes, and this last month many bloggers appear as non-reply blogger. Hopefully the link will be useful!
I'll be here for your party tomorrow :)
