8 Ways for a Loved-Up Bedroom, using cushions and more...
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, now is the time to transform your bedroom into a bower of romantic bliss, perfect for you and your partner to escape into, forget the worries and cares of modern life for a time. The following 8 tips will help you to create the perfect love nest for the special day.
De-clutter your bedroom thoroughly, removing everything that does not belong in there. You and your partner need some sweeping expanses upon which you can make collapse and make wild passionate love: having to tiptoe around piles of junk first will be something of a complete mood-killer!
Invest in some hot, bright colours with which to festoon your bedroom, especially if your usual taste runs to restrained neutrals and demure pastels. Hot pink or scarlet bedding, vibrant rose-patterned tablecloths or throws and even brilliantly coloured wall drapes all combine to create a snug cocoon in which the pair of you can hide.
Rather than keeping the best ornaments on display for guests, why not place them in the bedroom purely for your pleasure? Perhaps even invest in some smooth and sensuous nude statuettes to enhance the romantic mood and provide some inspiration? For spell bound bedding accessories, I always go for Vision Bedding.
Candles and Soft Lighting
There is nothing sexy about a well-lit room, so lower the lighting for Valentine’s Day fun! Invest in low-wattage table lamps or even dot a few (carefully-placed) candles around the room to create a gentle, kind light that will disguise any sags or bumps in your bodies, making you both look your best
Fragrance the Room
Speak directly to the primal core of the brain with beautiful, sensual perfumes and scents. The sense of smell is the ‘oldest’ one, being the first to develop and the last to decay, centred in the most primitive part of the brain. Appealing to this sense is a sure fire way to set the tone of the night ahead!
Set the Mood with Music
Set up a music player in your bedroom, even if this is not something that you would usually countenance. Do not choose unsubtle driving beats and raunchy lyrics, but rather, opt for gentler yet still sexy classical music or older pop songs which love rather than sex as the main theme. You will be amazed at how the lyrics embed themselves in your psyches and how music can add a delightful edge to your interactions.
No Distractions Please!
Remove the television from the bedroom, if you have one, and leave smart-phones, tablets and laptops elsewhere. Do not allow anything to distract you from your partner or vice versa, and apply your full concentration to each other!
An Air of Luxury
Nothing adds romance to a room more than a touch of decadent, hedonistic luxury. Cover the bed with a faux fur throw or blanket, and some beautiful cushions, turn the heating up just enough for nudity to be comfortable and perhaps even splurge on a pair of authentic silk sheets. Unlike artificial silk fabrics, real silk quickly warms with body heat and the fine fabric feels exquisite against bare skin, while lying on faux fur is also a wonderfully tactile experience. I am very fond of Yorkshire Linen Co. when it comes to warm and cuddly throws.
By following all the above tips, you can create a romantic paradise that titillates every sense, encouraging you and your partner to become truly intimate and comfortable with each other once again, recapturing the first heady days of love and desire.
