How I made my Bathroom Signs
If you've followed my blog for a while
then you know just how frugal I am.
Oh I could have spent the whole $4 and $5 on blank canvases, but I saw some already
painted on for only 50 cents
a piece and I was like
"YES PLEASE"!

How to Frame your Bathroom Mirror
Well hello there! Happy July 4th!
I'm so happy its Independence day, that I rushed out and got a new tattoo.
Ha ha, just kidding, but it is kinda cute!
Well anyway, I wanted to show off my new framed bathroom mirror today.
I had such a hard time getting the whole mirror in the before shot.
So first things first, I bought some wood trim in the baseboard section at Lowe's.
It cost $20 for 2 8ft. boards.
It's kinda hard to tell by the picture but there are grooves in the middle of the board, giving it a more frame look.
I had Mason at Lowe's cut two 40 inch pieces
and two 46 inch pieces.
So basically you have a 40 inch and a 46 inch cut from one board which leaves you with about 10 inches left over. Mason almost had me purchase more boards because he didn't do his math right. But thankfully as I started to walk away to get another board, I redid the math in my head and realized I only needed two boards.
So yes, do your own math and don't rely on the wood cutters, lol.
Then I brought them home and stained them with some stain I already had.
As you may remember I used this on my son's Mystery Box (toy chest)
Its a stain + poly so no going over it with
a clear coat.
Its a super dark stain, just the way I like it for this kind of project!
Then I had my hubby cut 45 degree angles at their edges.
Then I stained the edges. I could have had him cut it and then just stained it all.
But I did it backwards, yay me!
Then we applied it to the mirror using Liquid Nails.
However, make sure you get clear.
Ha, I didn't and it will show in the
reflection of the mirror.
Da da dun!
I was able to go back and paint it a brown black color so you can't tell. But it would have been much easier to just get clear in the first place.
After you apply it the mirror put painter tape to hold it on there while it dries.
Ha, don't you make fun of my mad taping skills!
After letting it dry over night...
here is the after affect.
Its so hard in my bathroom to get a full shot of the mirror since its so big.
But I think you get the point.
It looks so much better now!
It was a little time consuming but for only $20 it was well worth it!
A mirror this size would be a few hundred dollars.
So I am happy to spend a little extra time on it to save that much money!
Thank so much for tuning in!
Stay tuned for more bathroom updates.
Until next time...
