DIY Snow Cones with Homemade Syrup Recipe

It's the hottest part of the year, and there's nothing better than a ice cold snow cone!

These are so easy and quick and best part is drum roll... its only 70 cents per bottle to make each syrup. Now possibly even cheaper if you buy your sugar and Kool-Aid in bulk.

On with the instructions...

Add 2 cups  of sugar in a  medium sized sauce pan.

Add one cup of water and boil on high.

Stir, stir stir the whole time it is heating up to a boil.

When it's clear like this after it's reached boiling its ready for the Kool-Aid.

I added Mixed Berry for this batch, just one package.

Stir, stir, stir until all the Kool-Aid powder has dissolved.

We added  2 tsp. of imitation coconut to make the Blue Coconut flavor!

Let it cool for 20 minutes. The liquid will thicken and turn into a syrup when it is room temperature.

Then transfer to your dispenser. I couldn't find any at the store, so these water bottles worked just find until I fine some squeezie ones.

To make the ice I simply crushed it in my Ninja. It turned that ice into snow!

Look at all our yummy flavors...

Green Apple, Blue Coconut, Strawberry Kiwi,
and Peach Mango.

We had it for my daughter's birthday party,
and it was a great hit!

Thanks so much for tuning in!
Until Next Time...

  1. We have just recently discovered the joys of snow cones. I'd never had them outside of theme parks and such with the yucky flavors and hardly any syrup, it wasn't until a few days ago that we went to a snow cone place and fell in love. I can't wait to start experimenting with our own flavors! Thanks for linking up to Snickerdoodle Sunday!
