Vintage Painted Vase

Hello All, Happy Monday!

How was your weekend?

Mine was great! I spent the weekend camping.
It rained all night Friday,
and we woke up to cold weather.
At first, I was like
"burr, I wanna stay in the RV all day".

But I embraced it. I warmed up by taking nature walks, and gathering wood for the fire. I loved just staying by the fire for most of the afternoon, poking the fire with my fire stick.
I even cooked hot dogs, and chili on the camp fire! And later on that night we of course over indulged in S'mores, YUM!

Enough about my fun.
Lets talk about making over your plain ole' vases!

I love collecting vases!
Its really become my new hoarding obsession.

For the past 3 years now, I have been painting vases
and filling them with flowers
for my mom's birthday.

Remember these from the previous years?

There are some really unique vases out there, and while they seem boring at first, I look closer and see the beautiful details, and envision what it would look like painted.

Take this vase...

I bought this one at Salvation Army for only $1.
At first glance it look like an old clear boring glass vase, but then you see the cool curves and lines.

I then spray painted it black.

I know, black?

But I wanted the black to show through the top coat of paint.

Then I combined a few different acrylic paint colors: turquoise, blue and white.

Then I painted it with very light strokes so the black would show through.

I didn't even bother sanding,
as it looked good "as is".

Put some flowers and there ya go.
Happy Birthday Mom!

Thank you for tuning in!
Until Next Time...
