Watermelon Margaritas

I had a great time with my sister Saturday night! Even better because we made Watermelon Margaritas!
I do have two people to thank:

1) My friend Terri for giving me 2 huge watermelons.
2) My friend Bob for giving me the idea for using the watermelon to make margaritas. He had never made them but I just added it to my favorite margarita recipe.

My original recipe is called "Knock Ya Naked Margaritas". And in case you are wondering why its called that, well let's just say your clothes seem to disappear if you drink too much of these. Not to worry, all you have to do is add a little less tequila and add a little more ice if you want them weaker.

What you will need:

1 8oz can of Frozen Limeade
tequila (your choice)
watermelon chunks

Yes that is really all need.

Cut fresh watermelon chunks and then freeze them until frozen. This will ensure that your margarita is frozen not liquidy from the watermelon juice.

When your're ready to make your margaritas (as if you weren't ready as you were cutting it) then...

Empty your Limeade can into a pitcher, then fill up the whole can up with tequila. Yes the whole 8 ounces baby!

Then add about 1/2 ice to your blender, then the tequila and limeade mixture and then the watermelon chunks and Blend!  The limeade/tequila mixture should make about 2 batches ( 8 or so margaritas)

And there ya have it! So simple and ohh so tasty!

Thanks so much for tuning in! Until next time...

    1. Oh simply don't add the alchol, and so it won't be too thick, I'd add the watermelon without freezing it ;) If you want that sweet and sour taste to go along with it, I'd still use the limeade.

  13. Hey lady I couldn't find an email on your blog but...I've read your blog a couple times and I want to nominate you for the Liebster Award. You are probably asking what a Liebster Award is? It is a blogger to blogger award, when you receive it you have to nominate 11 bloggers with less than 200 readers, "liebster" by the way is dearest in German.
I"m going to post it on my page later today and there are some questions to answer and then you can put the badge on a post and nominate some people too! Come over to www.craftdictator.com later today!

  18. Looks delicious! I've only had one watermelon margarita before, and that was from Olive Garden on my birthday, and it was horrible. lol It didn't have much flavor! They probably should've added some limeade to it like your recipe! I may have to try this one day! Thanks for sharing at Submarine Sunday!
