Chalkboard Vase

First off let me say one thing... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! I absolutely love, love, love her! She is truly the best Mom EVER!
That's my mom holding my daughter, not me lol.

She's an even greater Granny!

Anyway, I made a chalkboard vase especially for her!

This is just a glass vase I purchased at the Dollar Tree (wow I do a lot of advertising for them).

Then paint it with your favorite chalkboard paint by Folk Art, but note it would have been so much easier using the chalkboard spray paint by Rustoleum. Amazon sells it super cheap. This took about 3 coats :(

Allow it to dry for 24+ hours, then cover it in chalk. This sets the paint, so you an write on it and erase it. Other wise you'll be able to see where you wrote on it (after erasing).

Then add your writing, as you can see I am horrible with chalk. I really do need to get some of those chalkboard pens. Sure wish they would send me some for free, lol.

Thanks for tuning in! Until next time...

  1. Such a cute idea to put chalkboard paint on a vase! I have never used anything but the spray...it goes on so smoothly and has the perfect finish. Check out my mirrow re-do on My Favorite Things!

  2. What a quick, easy, and inexpensive craft project....and it can be part of the gift of the flower bouquet, too! We have a Dollar Tree near my home and I love going there, too! Sounds and looks like your mom is a wonderful person.
