DIY Sack Holder

I know what your thinking... Allie Why?
Why would you make one of these, when you can buy them at the dollar store?

Well, first mine is handmade, and made with love, and mine will last a lot longer than a dollar store one. And...also mine was free.

Yep, already had the scrap material, already had the shoe laces, and the rest is FREE LABOR.

Also, I think mine is a lot cuter! Oh, and mine is made from a much thicker fabric!

Ok, so you hopefully now get why I made my own. {Insert giggles}

So, lets get started on making your own free sack holder...

Get out your scrap, but stylish fabric.
I couldn't fine one whole piece so instead I cut two 4 1/2 inch wide by 14 inch long pieces.

Sew the two pieces together pattern sides together.

Then fold and pin down the top and bottom pieces 1/2 inches. Make sure to keep your seems open, and then sew.

On the other end leave about 1 1/2 inches of the seam unsewed. And don't mine my dirty nails, I was painting right before that.

Pin it down 1/2 inch and pin on each side of the seam.

Sew one side then stop at the seam and then restart sewing on the other side of the seam.
You want the seam to be open so you can make handles on each side.

And now we're ready to sew the other side to form a tube. Make sure to start below the folded stitch, so you can feed your draw sting in.

And again, at the end stop before you get to the folded down stitch.

Turn inside out and feed your draw string into the holes. I used a shoe lace so I wouldn't have to find a safety pin to feed it through. Any kind of ribbon, or even a handmade fabric drawstring would work, simply pin a safety pin to the end so you can feed it through.

For the end I tied it into a bow so I can
still adjust it, if needed.

For the top tie the laces together. Make sure to make the draw string longer on this end.
Now pull the draw string  up at the two seams and wa-la you now have handles.

And there you have it, my easy peasy, sack holder.

Now I can use this in my RV.

Thanks so much for tuning!
Until Next Time...
